Recent Reviews

Book Reviews mean everything to authors, they help us grow and provide some all-important feedback that may even possibly shape our future works.

While being published may be a hobby for me, I still take it seriously and have aspirations of one day making it more. I appreciate every review I receive from my wonderful readers who have paved this author path for me.

Here is some recent praise for 3 of my works!

Weekly Ramble #136

February has started rather brightly, almost positively if there is such a thing. This is going to be my year and right now its looking good. Books are selling and followers are finding me not just on social media but on here. We are nearly up to 1000 word press followers which to me is a phenomenal achievement that has taken many years to carve.

This month I have taken strides to try and lead the charge in promoting the works of fellow indie authors by launching a hashtag over on Twitter. You might have seen it via my most recent indie book recommendations post published just the other day. While my following and influence is quite something to behold on Twitter at least I think there is still more work to do before I can get something like a hashtag trending, we’ll see and either way its an exciting prospect considering only a few years ago I was reverting to zero most days.

You can expect a lot more indie book love from me this month and we’ll lets face it, that’s every month because not only am I an indie author but I firmly believe that supporting my industry makes it a better place to be. Just got to keep going.

Weekly Ramble #105

Over the past weekend we crossed eight thousand tweet machine followers! Although things are moving real quick at the moment its a pinnacle milestone because this time last year it only stood at half that. I suppose that’s the wonder of social media and being plugged in to it, things can jump quickly sometimes, especially if you put in the time.

This humble blogging effort is also in the milestone territory of 800 follows which I must applaud all of you for. The support you have shown is incredible and good things are coming, I promise. Right now I’m taking a short break to write this entry, a break from being in the intense thunder dome of editing my next release which is less than a month away hopefully.

‘Consistent Creative Content’ has become a mission of mine to get right but I’ve been incredibly lucky to learn so much over the years and then even more fortunate to receive professional level feedback from my BETA readers. Seriously, these folks have gone above and beyond any realm that I expected – knowing good people has become something I’m incredibly lucky at seemingly. If you get yourself out there and connect with others, eventually you’ll find the same. Just got to keep going…

Weekly Ramble #82

The 6th book release is near. Everything has kind of come together recently in a somewhat surprising turn of events from reaching the 4000 follower milestone on Twitter to actually selling books on a scale I’ve never known before. Maybe, just maybe I’ve figured things out. But how?

Sometimes stuff just aligns and it hasn’t been easy. It’s taken trial and error to figure out. The road to anything good is paved with hardship and hardwork. Those days of reverting to zero still rear their head every so often but I’ve learned a lot.

I’m by no means a master at this and as much as I expect not a lot of sales from the release of this next book, I’m optimistic that a cluster of loyal folks will at least support my efforts. This is no longer 2018 and my following is full of people I’ve helped and those who’ve helped me. We’re a community and collective, you know who you are. The philosophy of being in Island in the modern world of social media authoring will get you nowhere. This is possibly my greatest learning curve. Connecting, socialising and being consistent with content will eventually foster growth and a following. I’ve recently lauded the concept of getting readers to first invest in you before they take on your work and it’s becoming a way of life. This is while I’ve always kept pecking away at the stories, chasing the words.

Blindly sharing the link to your work is a beginners error. Nobody cares for a writer who does this for self gain. Do this so we can all gain something from one another. There’s a compelling story that’s beyond our books and that’s what will hook people in to you. Being active in the arena and contributing to the writing community is the only way I’ve got to where I am and I’m thankful for the people I’ve networked with.

As much as social media can be a toxic cesspool it’s here for the long haul like me and Book 6 is just my latest milestone of many more things to come. Watch this space which is now decorated with optimism.

You can expect more information about Book 6 very soon!
