A purge is coming to Darke Heath and the assembled Order of the Following heroes must fight to survive their final chapter.
After the awakening of a force unparalleled to anything seen before they will face their biggest and deadliest challenge yet. The darkness stretches way beyond anyone could ever comprehend and not everyone will survive as Blake Malone stands at the forefront of what lies beyond the true darkness.
Its time to go beyond the true darkness as the occult Order of the Following Series culminates with the thrilling final book Darke Apocalypse.
I said my next fictional release would be the final ‘Darke’ book and so I kind of have to go through with it now….

And so a new venture emerges with the aim to help fellow Twitter users navigate their way to success. This month I have been busy recording an exclusive series of audio sessions all about my journey on Twitter and now I am ready to share it with the world! That is of course after getting over the fact I am not a fan of hearing my own voice recorded…
Next week I shall be releasing the first four sessions over on Patreon while Session’s 1 and 2 will be free to listen. The first two sessions are over thirty minutes and my aim is to then release everything else exclusively to Patrons who sign up for less than $2 a month. So just what will these audio sessions be about?
Having spent nearly 10 years on Twitter I’ve learned a lot about the platform, from what to tweet about to what makes a perfect profile to even more technical stuff like selling books regularly and constantly increasing my following. In January of 2021 I had around 5,000 followers and today it is nearly 30,000. Back then I would sell a book through Twitter every 10 or so days and now I sell a book nearly every other day. My aim is to pass on all of my wisdom exclusively to Patrons and this series of coaching will consist of multiple sessions covering pretty much everything I know to find success as an author and content creator online.
It has taken me many years to figure out social media marketing and these sessions will equip you with the best possible chance in hopefully way less time it took me.
Promoting this new venture is going to be quite a journey especially on the social media platforms that will probably try to hide much of my advertising efforts but I’ve got this far so I am ready!
You can find my Patreon here where there are a few guides and some fiction currently available to read.
I’m bringing back my Patreon. Those who have been around since last year might remember that I took the plunge into starting one and now I’m ready to return to it. My initial vision to start a Patreon was simply an experiment and now with everything I have learned, I’m diving back in.
So just what am I offering on Patreon and what is Patreon? Good questions and simply Patreon is a subscription based platform where creatives can earn an income for their work. There will always be those who roll their eyes or turn their noses up at the concept of creatives making money and I’m not doing it for that but simply because my guides have value – you won’t be able to find what I have on offer anywhere else. I used my Patreon to release author/social media guides and a little fiction, some of it was free to read while others are behind an affordable pay wall of just over £1/$1. That content is still available including a whole book.
Time constraints and the fact my social media following was a lot less back then kind of forced me to re-think and put together a brand new strategy for how my Patreon would offer the very best in guides for fellow indie authors at an exclusive level. Now my Patreon will feature guides and specific coaching based content that will be found nowhere else. Very soon I am going to release a series of audio based guides that will provide detailed coaching on Twitter for creatives – a subject I know a lot about. From selling books/content regularly to reaching more followers, I’ve learned a bunch which I will exclusively pass on to Patrons. Those who do sign up will get regular shout-outs on my Twitter in front of 27,000+ followers and will also have access to all future content on Patreon.
I don’t see this as a cash grab as my subscription fee is very affordable but I do see my work as valuable to those who need it. I’ve spent many years working to this point and above all, I am incredibly excited to help fellow authors and creatives.
Right now I am working on updating my Patreon page, but here’s the link if you wanted to take a look. You can read some guides and the entire novel ‘Last Outlaw’ a book that I will probably publish next year.
Hello friends, awesome news alert. I am proud to announce that I am going to be a Professor for the ‘I’m An Author Academy’ – an exciting new venture alongside some wonderful creatives that will guide the authors of tomorrow by sharing our wisdom and lessons learned over the years.
Together we are going to be there for those who want to evolve from from just saying they are an aspiring author to I’m An Author!
So what is the I’m An Author Academy all about and where did this come from? Well, last year and through social media I connected with fellow author and Instagram Royalty Emma Jean who approached me and two fellow authors with this incredible idea. That idea being to pass on everything we have learned on our journey and as a collective our skills range from writing, publishing, marketing, blogging, social media-ing to even podcasting.
Right now, we are working behind the scenes to put together content while Emma Jean is putting in ahuge amount of work and effort to bring this academy to life. For those who frequent this blog will probably recognize her name as the author who wrote Sleeping Beauty and The Cursed Code which I reviewed last year.
Emma G. Rose is a multi-published author who also hosts the brilliant Indie Book Talk Podcast which I highly recommend you listen to especially if you are a supporter of indie authors!
To be included in this wonderful group is probably one of the biggest compliments I’ve received on this writer journey and also a testament to how effective indie publishing and social media can be for connecting with others. This generation of social media creatives is incredibly important for the future of books and publishing so it’s imperative we pass on as much as we can to help it grow and evolve. Our combined efforts make us quite a team.
You can expect to hear a lot more soon as the full website for the I’m An Author Academy will be launching but here’s the landing page. Be sure to check out the Academy’s Instagram page and make sure you give it a follow – your support is very much needed and of course, appreciated.
Announcement Alert. Coming this December and due to popular demand I am proud to say Consistent Creative Content will be coming to paperback!
Perhaps it was an oversight for me to offer this book in just digital format to begin with butin that time I have learned many of my readers still appreciate that feeling of holding a real book in their hands. Due to that demand I have taken the plunge of converting my guide book into paperback and it will be available from mid December – just in time for gift season!
Do you know a budding author looking for a guiding light in the daunting industry of self publishing? Is the blogger in you ready to dive in but not sure where to start? Do you want to learn how to leverage your social media following into sales?
Consistent Creative Content would make the perfect gift for any writer at any stage because it is packed full of modern resources for the modern writer. Below you will find various snippets and other cool things about the book. Rock and roll man!
November brings the start of reflection for me and what a year this has been. Some of you might remember at the start I said it would be long and brutal in places and it has been. It has also been the best I have ever known as a creative for both book sales and social media results – for that I have you to thank. This train is going to keep rolling because in December I am eyeing up a rather spectacular finish with something special.
You could say this spectacular finish is something I have been planning all along and this path I am on might have always been leading to this. Quite soon you’ll be hearing more and normally this time of the year my writing efforts are wrapping up, not this time as things are only getting busier towards December; a month where my final act shall appear. I’m being super cryptical here but for those who follow my efforts as an author, this will be good for you I hope.
I have always gone where the demand is. My past releases have been dictated by having an ear on the ground and looking at what readers are buying from me. This final thing will hopefully secure what has been an awesome but difficult ride while also laying a good path for next year. More soon and of course, watch this space.
The year is 1902 and aging gunslinger John Arthur is doing his best to survive times becoming more civilised by the day. That is whilst trying to guide his adoptive daughter Bethany ‘The Blade’ Mason to adulthood. After a troubling vision; Arthur must put it to the back of his mind as an opportunity appears in the form of three stagecoaches worth of gold. This life-changing haul just happens to be sitting in the bank of the small strange town known as Haddington but something monstrous lurks beneath the surface. Heist soon turns to horror forcing outlaw and law to align in order to survive the unexpected.
Last Outlaw: The ‘Haddington Haul’ will premiere on Tuesday the 17th of August via Patreon.
Sabi followed Vane through the front door of the house, out to the porch. She placed herself in the rocker then watched him. Vane cradled the gun in her lap then crossed her hands over it as though she was trying to hide it. Sabi leaned against the post next to the steps facing her.
“Go ahead. Who is Sabi and why does he need to hide at my house?” She asked while lazily rocking in the chair.
“Okay. I’m not sure where to start.”
“Why don’t you start by telling me why a guy that drifts in and out of British accent. Sometimes sounding European and sometimes sounding American is in Guatemala? And why that guy is lugging around all this computer equipment?”
“If I answer questions for you will you answer questions for me too?”
“We’ll see. Get started,” she said as a light breeze blew her hair moving it gently.
“Okay. I was staying at a resort on the coast.”
“I knew that.”
Sabi shot her a look, telling her not to interrupt him with his eyes before he continued. “I’d only been there a few days. Before that, I was in Bolivia, before that, Sierra Leone and before that, Togo.”
“Togo? You’re making that up.”
“No, it’s a real country. Look it up. It’s in Africa on the west coast, very small. Nice on the coast, but when you get inland a little, there’s not much and it’s a lot warmer. Anyway, you are starting to get the picture. I’m always moving. I’ve been home three times in the last two years. I go from one hotel to the next.”
“Why?” She asked. She had stopped rocking and scooted forward in the rocker.
He held up a finger, “I’m trying to explain. I’ve never told anyone this story. I have one friend that knows parts of what I do and other than that, it’s my boss and Momma.” Sabi stopped talking, moving from the post he was leaning against to the opposite side of the steps. He sat down leaning back against the other post. “I was educated in England then went to university in America. America is where I received my degree in international finance. My dad was a big wig in the Ministry of Finance at home.”
“Where’s home?”
“Oh. Turkmenistan. So I get home, dad gets me a good job at the biggest bank in our country. In less than two years, dad is convicted by the government for a bunch of crap. Basically dad was on the take. The trial is like the first one ever in our country to be televised. Within a week of his conviction, I’m fired.”
“I guess I can understand that, but it doesn’t seem right.”
“I knew it was coming. There was a lot of talk at work during the televised trial. Not much I could do about it. So I’m out of work. The government took everything from my Momma and dad. Momma moves in with me and I’m now the man of the house with no way to support her. Two weeks later, I’m down to next to nothing in money. A guy shows up in front of me on the street, asking if I want a job in international banking. “Sure,” I say. He tells me to be in front of my building the next morning at nine and someone will pick me up. I’m out there a little early, waiting and right on time, this limo pulls up in front of me and this man tells me to get in. I get in, there’s another guy in there. I’m thinking he’s interviewing too when the first guy hands me a hood and tells me to put it over my head.”
“You get into a limo and they want you to put a hood over your head?” She says not really asking a question.
Sabi nodded his head. “Yeah. So, I have to wear this hood the whole time. And it wasn’t really an interview. Basically, the guy tells me that he was friends,” Sabi used his hands to make air quotes as he says friends, “With my dad. He says he will give me a job and he’ll make things easier on my dad. He says Momma will be taken care of. And he will even make sure my two brothers are able to stay in school, one in England, one in America. I have to do what he says.”
“Shit. I thought I got dealt a bad hand. Go ahead.”
“So it turns out, this guy is a big-time opium smuggler. He needs to be able to launder his money now that the government threw all his contacts in jail. I spent about three months, traveling all over the world to conferences. I learned how to catch money launderers. Then I came up with a system to use, to beat their system of catching people like me. One of the things involves me moving all the time. Hence, I’m in your country.”
“Okay, that explains why you’re in Guatemala, but not why you’re at my house.”
“You don’t think I’m a bad person after hearing that, do you? I did what I could to help my mom, dad and brothers. I never planned to be involved in something like this.”
“No, I don’t think you’re bad. You’re not doing good things, but…” Vane shrugged her shoulders.
“I know. Sometimes I’m not happy with myself. I don’t like what I’m doing now, but I don’t know another way out. Momma. My brothers and dad. I didn’t want to steal the money, but I don’t know any other way to get out and save my family.” Sabi hung his head down between his knees.
He started sobbing quietly and turned away from her. Vane moved from the chair and knelt behind, him placing her hand on his back. She rubbed his back in a circular motion, “Sabi, you’re not a bad person.”
“You don’t understand.” He said between sobs, his shoulders heaving up and down. “I haven’t had anyone to talk to in so long. Always being careful what I say. Looking over my shoulder. This is the first time I’ve been able to let my guard down with anyone in-” He trailed off, trying to remember the last time he openly talked to someone.
“You want to take a break for a little bit? I could tell you my hard luck story if you’re interested…
This is an excerpt of ‘Killer Coffee Beans’ by Shaun Young which will be released on August 1st. You can find more information via Shaun’s Twitter.
‘Consistent Creative Content: A Guide to Authoring and Blogging in the Social Media Age’ will be my 7th release and this time we’re going non-fiction!
Some of you might already know that I’ve drafted an Authoring and Blogging Self-Help guide book and now this is the official announcement post.
Over the past nearly 3 years this blogging effort has been at the very forefront of my growth/success in the wider arena of social media and authoring. While I have you to thank, kind reader and follower or buyer of my books, the successes and learning opportunities of being a blogger and indie author has inspired me to lay down such experiences into a guide that aims to not only show you how I got here, but to hopefully inspire anyone looking to journey into the foray of blogging and authoring themselves.
SoJust what credentials do I have to back all of this up?
As you can see from the above graphic, my blogging views over the past 3 year have skyrocketed and continually grown. This image will hopefully back up the theories and methods I used to get them within this guide. Of course it won’t all be blogging centric, there is also a huge portion of the book dedicated to authoring, from the basics of choosing which publishing path to take, the basic anatomy of a book all the way to book promotion methods. There are even some lesser known hints and tips I’ve kept to myself until now. I will even cover social media platforms in both basic and advanced detail. There’s even a whole section dedicated to book reviewing. Trust me this is a plethora of authoring and blogging. I have even included a brief memoir that I hope will inspire and influence along with a breakdown or roadmap of how I published 6 books in 5 years.
Simply put, this guide will hopefully inspire or help anyone looking to get into blogging or authoring at any level. Those who are like me and combine both will benefit the most.
